ABOUT
Boonwurrung Ngargee is an all female youth dance program providing
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander girls and young women an opportunity to learn and practice their culture through dance.
Boonwurrung language and stories are passed down by Senior Boonwurrung Elder, N'arweet Carolyn Briggs, and interpreted into modern dance styles and sounds, under the creative direction of Wala Connections Thara Brown & Zoe Brown-Holten.
The program is led by traditional owners and First Nations creatives and artists to share and develop stories, songs and dances committed to mentoring young people.
The group regularly dance in ceremony and perform nationally across small community to large arena events.

Boonwurrung Ngargee Dance Group offers​ dances for events that align with our purpose and values and feel safe for our young women.
Our dances are professional and have experience dancing from smaller scale community event to larger scale arenas.

Performance fees directly support the running of the program,
providing regular workshops and opportunities to strengthen our creative expression and cultural practice.
